ABOUT MAQ

Bringing quilters together to learn, create and connect.

A Community Connected by Quilting

Mid-Appalachian Quilters brings together quilting enthusiasts for an annual three-day educational seminar and retreat filled with learning, creativity and connection.

Each summer, quilters come together to develop their skills through inspiring classes led by expert instructors, explore new techniques and spend time with others who share their passion for quilting.

For many attendees, MAQ is about much more than the classes. It's an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new ones and become part of a welcoming community brought together by a shared love of quilting.

The Annual Educational Retreat

At the heart of MAQ is our Annual Educational Retreat — three days dedicated to learning, creativity and the quilting community.

Each year, MAQ welcomes expert instructors who lead an exciting programme of workshops designed to help attendees develop their skills, discover new techniques and find fresh creative inspiration.

We aim to offer a diverse selection of classes, from traditional quilting techniques to innovative contemporary approaches, giving attendees the opportunity to try something completely new or take an existing skill further.

And you don't need to arrive with a group. Many quilters attend MAQ on their own and leave having made wonderful new friends.
