SEMINAR
INFORMATION
Location: Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg,
Maryland, on US Route 15, north of Frederick, Maryland and south of Gettysburg,
Pennsylvania. ALL BUILDINGS ARE AIR CONDITIONED AND HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE,
WITH 24-HOUR CAMPUS SECURITY.
Housing: All rooms are a combination of singles and doubles in suites with 3 to 5 people per suite. Each suite has one shared bathroom with a shower, toilet, and a sink. There is also a living room area. All suites have a refrigerator. All linens are provided. Porters will be available to assist with carrying your bags, as there are no elevators in some of the dorm buildings.
Meals: All meals are included for resident quilters from Friday’s dinner through Sunday’s lunch. Students may buy lunch in the cafeteria on Friday or bring their own from home. Commuter students may purchase their meals, cash only, directly from the cafeteria. Approximate costs for meals from the cafeteria are: breakfast $5.25, lunch $6.75, dinner $9.50.
Classrooms: Located approximately 150 to 200 yards from the dorms. Sidewalks between buildings enable the use of luggage carts to transport class supplies. An elevator is available in the classroom building, and we will have porters to assist you during arrival and departure times.
Lottery Block: For an additional $2.50, we will send you fabric and rules for the 2008 Block Exchange. Blocks will be collected and a drawing held. This year’s lottery block will have an Amish theme. This is in keeping with the donation made by the outgoing MAQ board to the Lancaster Quilt and Textile Museum in Lancaster PA.
Supply lists: A detailed supply list specific to your chosen class will be sent with your class confirmation. The brochure information includes a brief description of the class content and any additional fees for special tools or patterns that you must purchase for the class. All kit or pattern fees are payable directly to the instructor at the beginning of class unless otherwise noted. Correct cash will be appreciated!
Vendor mall: Because some quilters think a weekend without shopping is a hardship, some of our instructors will be selling fabric, patterns, books and other goodies. This is NOT to be relied on for your class supplies, but allows shopping Friday and Saturday after the evening programs.
Registration: We encourage you to register early. If you have attended this seminar, you know that classroom space is limited. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis until June 1, 2008.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations before June 15, 2008 will receive an 80% refund. No refunds after June 15, 2008. You may find a substitute to take your place instead of forfeiting the fees.
